A Great Pi(Pie) Day

Two days ago, on Friday, March 14, 2014, it was Pi Day! The reason (you might guess) that March 14 of every year is Pi Day is because the common decimal approximation for Pi is 3.14, and March 14 can be written as 03/14. Pi is what you get when you divide the circumference of a given circle by its diameter. The circumference of a circle is the distance around the circle, or the perimeter of that circle. The diameter of a circle is the distance across the centerpoint of that circle, or the longest chord (a line segment that joins two points on a circle) of that circle. For any circle, c/d=Pi, c being the circumference, and d being the diameter. This is how much I memorized of Pi: 3.1415926535897932384626433832795028 8419716939937510582097494459230781. Pi is believed to have an infinite number of digits. We celebrated Pi at my school by having a Pi Contest, with 2 winners that memorized much more than just 3.14159265 35897932384626433832795028841971693997510582097494459230781. They trully memorized a whole lot. After that, we at PIES! Pies are circular in shape, and they went well with celebrating PI Day. This was probably the funniest thing in Pi Day. I ate delicious apple pie that I brought in with friends. We made circular plates with many digits of Pi around it. We also listened to a Pi song to help us memorize Pi. I really love music, so this was my favorite part. Overall, I had a great Pi Day, and my ultimate objective for next Pi Day is to memorize more than 3.141592653589793 23846264338327950288419716939937510582097494459230781, and defeat the winners of this year's Pi Contest.

Robotics Camp!!!

Several weeks ago and today,(two different days) I went to a robotics camp at Lawrence Technological University for this organization called Robofest. Robofest is where you can build and program your own robot and showcase it at any Robofest competition as long as you qualify. For more information, go on google and type in "Robofest" or visit Robofest.net. The thing is that I didn't go for a competition, I went for the camp that they were holding there. It was a one-day robotics camp where you could build and program a Sumo robot(a robot that fights) and showcase it at an official class tournament. I had a great time, although me and my teammate did not win. I loved the award ceremony with all of the medals handed out with a trophy going to the winners!

A "Snake's" Summer

If you didn't know I was born in 2001. What's so important about 2001, you may be asking? Well, it's the year of the snake in the Chinese Zodiac. Everyone's birth year is important because it is special. The Chinese Zodiac is awesome because it gives details about what one's life will most probably be like. 2013, by the way, is the year of the snake, and that is my Chinese Zodiac sign. The Chinese are truly right. I am having a great summer, and this year so far has been great! I hope that all the "Snakes" out there are having a great summer, and I equally hope that the other signs are enjoying their summer also! If you don't know your sign, I understand. Just go on google, and type "Chinese Zodiac" and they will tell you all about your sign as long as you know when you were born!

A Busy Day!!!!!

Today, was quite a busy day formy family! First thing in the morning we had to prepare for going to my grandpa's birthday party at my cousin's house. While my mom was packing, and my dad was taking a shower, I thought that I could prepare a robot to show to my grandpa, family, and family friends! I already had a robot built, so I just had to program it. (My dad programmed it with me before taking his shower.) Programming a LEGO Mindstorms robot is pretty easy. If you don't know what a LEGO Mindstorms robot is then you have acouple of options: 1.Go on youtube and look it up. 2.Go to anoher one of my blog posts called "A FINE Snow Day" and read it. (Provided with a good explanation! :)) Anyway, after I programmed it a couple of trials, It was good enough to be presented, and I too took a shower and got ready for the party. After 3-4 hours, we departed my cousins house and headed back home. We got there, and I went on the tredmill for 2 minutes, until my brother came and disturbed me along with my mom and dad.( Hint: My brother is only 1 1/2 years old. so I can't possibly let im near it as all tredmill instructions say.) Then, my dad said that he's going to get my new laptop, so he set of to do that. After that, I was dreadfully tired, so I decided to watch some soothing evening television to calm the mind. after about 30 minutes of it, I notice that my dad brings in the new laptop. I got excited and went to where he sat to watch him set it up. After a while of setting up, He finally gave it to me, and that is exactly why I am blogging this post on it right now, on the new laptop! So, basically that is the busy day that I had today, and boy am I tired, so I just feel like brushing my teeth, going to bed, and drifting off into a warm, deep, sleep. (Snore).......(snore)............ ZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzz......ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

A FINE Snow Day!!!!!!

Well, guess what, I know you're thinkin' what I'm thinkin', 'cause you must've read the title! You,re probably right, it's a SNOW DAY!!!!!! YAY!!!!!! So, here's what I've been doing at home: making and testing LEGO Mindstorms robots, for Robofest (Our next meeting is tomorrow!!!!), watching some cartoons, and playing with my brother, Ashwin. If you don't know what LEGO Mindstorms or Robofest are, then I'll explain it. Robofest, is a competition where different people from different parts of the world, test their robotic creations, to see who has the best robot with the best quality of programmed ability. However, LEGO Mind storms, is something that you can use for competing in robfest. LEGO Mindstorms is where you can try building and programming sample robots, or make your own design using the robotics kit given. Overall, robotics is a very fun subjest in technology. Anyway, that is most certainly not the main idea of this post. So, where was I??? Oh, yes MY SNOW DAY!!!! My plans for the rest of the snow day are: going outside, and building a snowman, cleaning the house for the visitors coming tomorrow (for Robofest), working out ( going on the tredmill, doing pullups, using my medicine ball, doing shoulder touches, doing pushups, etc. Finally I will brush my teeth, go to my bed, and drift off into a warm, cozy deep sleep. Zzzzzzzzzz.....ZZzzzzzzzzzzz........ Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Superbowl Sunday!!!!!!!

I know that I haven't been blogging for quite a bit of time now. Starting today, I will make sure that I post at least one blog post every week. That's a promise!!! :). Now where was I??? Oh yes, IT'S THE SUPER BOWL!!!!! I'm really excited to watch it this evening!!!! To tell the truth, I hope the 49ers beat the Baltimore Ravens. Although I do think the Ravens are a pretty good team! Speaking of Michigan's team, the Detroit Lions, One of my favorite quarter back players is Calvin Johnson, and one of my favorite wide receivers is Matthew Stafford (note: this is only for the Lions). Mostly, me and my dad watch the sports together, and that makes sense because my mom is not that interested in sports. Oh, and once again, GO 49ERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spring Break is Starting!!!!

I can't believe it! Spring break is actually starting! To tell you the truth, I really can't wait for it. The sad thing is that we only get about 1 week.

As a matter of fact my grandma just today arrived at airport all the way from India. She's at my house now. In a few days, I bet she's gonna have a bit of trouble with my brother because he is pretty naughty.

Over the break, I am planning to master the basics of roller skating. I take classes at Skating Station II(2). I'm goi
